Save the Day: Transgender Day of Remembrance 2018

October 22, 2018

Remembering lives lost and standing together against violence.

Please join the San Mateo County LGBTQ community at the San Mateo Public Library, 55 W 3rd Avenue, San Mateo, California, 94402, for Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDoR) on Tuesday, November 13th, 2018 from 5:00-7:00pm. County Supervisor, Dave Pine (District 1) will provide welcoming remarks to the community.

Transgender Day of Remembrance is an opportunity for us to come together and remember those who have lost their lives to anti-transgender violence. Join us starting at 5pm for a candlelight procession in San Mateo which will conclude at the San Mateo Public Library. At 6pm, there will be a program including County Supervisor Dave Pine (District 1) and Anthony Ross, Program Manager for the new Office of Transgender Affairs with Santa Clara County. There will be refreshments, music, and resource tables. Although not every person represented during the Day of Remembrance self-identified as transgender— each was a victim of violence based on bias against transgender people.
