Farewell Letter from Kilani to our beautiful Community

January 14, 2019

It is with a heavy heart that I announce my departure from the San Mateo County Pride Center. Working here for the last year and a half has afforded me the incredible opportunity to get to know so many of you. When I started this job, I new nothing about San Mateo County; thanks to everyone here, I am now proud to call this place a second home.

I have enjoyed hearing your stories and witnessing your triumphs. It has been such an honor to be a small part of the team that helped bring a long overdue LGBTQ center to your home county. The time I spent here is something I will always cherish and remember fondly. I have witnessed firsthand the beauty, resiliency, and strength of the LGBTQ community and allies in this county and I can say without a single doubt in my mind that these things will only ever continue to grow. #QueerHereSMC

Thank you all for this amazing opportunity. I wish everyone nothing but the best and look forward to seeing what great things the Pride Center and this community continue to do in the future!

Keep on keeping,

Kilani
