Welcoming Winter Walk at Wunderlich Park

December 5 @ 7:18 am

Welcoming Winter Walk at Wunderlich Park
Saturday, December 6th from 1-4pm in Woodside

Come and enjoy our unique winter along one of the beautiful trails of Wunderlich Park on Saturday, December 6th from 1-4pm in Woodside! Activities include a hike, a park museum, crafts, and snacks.  Join the San Mateo County Parks, San Mateo County Parks Foundation, Friends of Huddart & Wunderlich Parks, CORA, and San Mateo County Pride Center as we learn about the beauty of the nature around us. We encourage all attendees to bring a water bottle, wear a hat, closed-toed shoes that can get muddy, and extra clothing layers for the breeze. If it rains, we will still be able to enjoy indoor activities. For more information about the trail we will take, visit: Wunderlich Park Trails | County of San Mateo, CA

Accessibility Information: The hike is 1.7 miles long and follows an easy trail with minimal slope. We will start with a short 0.2-mile section of the Bear Gulch Trail before connecting to the Loop Trail, which continues until we reach the Alambique Trail. The route follows a 12-foot-wide dirt road, providing plenty of space for a large group to walk comfortably together.

Wunderlich Park Description: Wunderlich Park is a hillside area of redwood forest, open meadows, and beautiful oaks and madrones. The park offers a network of trails for hiking and horseback riding and serves as an important open space preserved for the community. This area was donated to the County by Martin & Murielle Wunderlich. It contains what was once the Folger family ranch, and the estate stable and surrounding buildings have been restored to provide a historic site. The original Carriage Room within the main stable has been transformed into a magnificent museum that showcases our local history, including the lumbering, farming, and great estate eras.
