LGBTQ+ COVID Impact Report

It is with great excitement and honor we announce the release of San Mateo County Pride Center’s LGBTQ+ COVID Impact Study Report.  San Mateo County Pride Center’s LGBTQ COVID Impact Study Report. Included in this report is both quantitative and qualitative data on how the pandemic has impacted LGBTQ+ communities in San Mateo County. To date, this is the only known data of how COVID-19 has impacted LGBTQ people in the state of California.

The Pride Center had the great privilege to work with Schweizer Fellow, Ada Zhang, who is from the Stanford School of Medicine. From November to December of 2020, the Pride Center was able to collect over 500 responses which were then analyzed to produce this report. Additionally, over 100 people left comments sharing how the pandemic had impacted them on a deeper level. This report illustrates the impact of the pandemic on already overly marginalized populations.

Moving forward, the Pride Center plans to work with other community-based organizations to address the needs clearly identified in this report. This data is critical to informing our work and how to best target our programs and services.

We would like to thank everyone for their involvement and participation in this report whether you took the survey, shared the link, and/or offered guidance in its development. This project was successful because of the tremendous support and involvement of community members and key stakeholders. We do our best work when we do it together.

To access the survey, please click the button below or visit this link: tinyurl.com/SMC-LGBTQ-CovidSurvey. Currently, the report is only available in English. We hope to have this translated in multiple languages in the future.
