Children form foundational concepts about gender, love and family before the age of five. Creating inclusive environments is essential as young children form their senses of who they are, whom they can love and what makes a family. By understanding issues related to gender and sexual orientation and supporting children in affirming ways, we give them the freedom to explore their true identities and a diverse world from the beginning.
During this free 90 minute webinar in Spanish, facilitators Jennifer Ventura (Early Childhood Specialist and Consultant) and Tania Cisneros-Ventura (Childhood Educator and Family Therapist) offer age-appropriate info, strategies, and resources with relatable examples and activities to share ideas about how to support young children. Topics include understanding LGBTQ+ identities and terms, practicing pronouns and inclusive language, managing daily messages about gender, love and family, and the power of affirmation.
